How to make gold in WoW using the auction house.
A lot of new players in the guild are not yet schooled in the ways of making gold. I still remember how hard it was to level your character without proper funding so I am taking a little bit of time to write out a simple “How To” for anyone interested in reading this. First you will need to exit WoW and install the addon “Auctioneer.” The following link http://wiki.norganna.org/Auctioneer/Installing will provide information on how to install the addon if you are unfamiliar with addons.
After logging in to WoW with auctioneer I recommend creating/dedicating a WoW toon just for the purpose of doing auctions. This way, you can simply mail your “Bank Toon” all the materials you want to sell in the auction house. This will save you a lot of time since you don’t have to travel back and forth to the major cities.
Once you speak to an auctioneer at the auction house your auction house menu will pop up with new tab windows via the auctioneer add on.
1. Click on the appraiser tab.
2. Click on an item in the left hand side.
3. Click refresh on the lower right corner.
4. Click post items.
5. Pray, sacrifice, join a cult, or simply wait until someone purchases something from you and collect your gold from the mail.
Advanced Users :
This section is for those who are familiar with selling their stuff in the auction house but was never “bold” enough to try and buy for less and sell for more.
I have been doing this for the last two months (due to work being busy and not being able to play, I found joy in trying to play Mr. Stockbroker with the auction house).
To my surprise I have been making an enormous amount of gold (slow but steady). Everything sells. Sometimes for a loss, but everything(profession mats) does eventually sell.
More than selling I feel pro having a lot of random materials filled up in my bank and mailbox. I know I wasn’t ripped off because I bought the materials at an extremely low price.
1. Speak to an auctioneer then click on “Scan” on the lower left side of the screen.
2. Click on the search tab.
3. Click on “resale” at the left side of the screen.
4. Set your minimum profit (recommend : 50 silver if your poor)
5. Set your minimum seen (recommend maxing this but you have to do numerous scans over a long period of time)
6. Set your allow bids and allow buyouts (if your just starting out uncheck allow bids)
7. Click on “Search” in the lower left hand of the screen.
8. Organize the items that appear according to their “Buyout” price.
9. Start purchasing profession items from lowest price – highest. (Mines, herbs, cloths, leather, dusts, etc.)
10. Pick up your items from your mailbox and resale them according to their standard market value
*** You can cross reference before purchasing expensive items by looking it up at www.wowhead.com
*** Highly recommend getting the add on “Postal.” It will save you time by opening all your mail for you.
